Program Overview

Valdivia is one of Chile’s most beautiful and relaxed cities — surrounded by rivers, forests, and sea. Known for its German heritage, student life, and natural beauty, it offers the perfect environment to learn Spanish while experiencing authentic southern Chilean culture.

Our program combines daily Spanish lessons with guided activities, cultural workshops, and a homestay experience with local families. Students practice Spanish both inside and outside the classroom — at local markets, cafés, and community events.

Weekly Structure (Example: 4 Weeks)

Week Focus Main Activities
Week 1 Basic communication: greetings, introductions, directions. City walking tour, visit to Mercado Fluvial and Costanera.
Week 2 Daily life vocabulary: food, shopping, transportation. Cooking class with host family, visit to Isla Teja and local breweries.
Week 3 Culture & conversation: Chilean slang, idioms, and pronunciation. Language exchange with university students, river boat trip.
Week 4 Fluency & confidence: storytelling, opinions, and discussion. Day trip to Niebla Fortress and Parque Oncol, farewell dinner.

Daily Schedule

14:00 – 17:00 Cultural activity or excursion
Evenings Dinner and practice with host family

Homestay Accommodation

Each student stays with a local Valdivian family who provides:

  • Private room with Wi-Fi

  • Two meals per day (breakfast and dinner)

  • Laundry service once per week

  • Warm and supportive environment for daily Spanish practice
