Program Overview

This four-week program combines intensive Spanish learning with a meaningful volunteer experience in the beautiful southern town of Pucón, Chile — known for its lakes, volcanoes, and welcoming local community.

Students live with Chilean host families, attend morning Spanish classes, and spend their afternoons volunteering in community or environmental projects. It’s an ideal program for travelers, students, or professionals who want to learn real Spanish while making a difference.


Weekly Structure

Week Focus Main Activities
Week 1 – Welcome & Cultural Orientation Basic survival Spanish, introductions, local culture, and safety briefing. Orientation walk around Pucón, Spanish classes, and visit to Lago Villarrica.
Week 2 – Expanding Communication Skills Conversation practice, local expressions, and practical vocabulary for volunteering. Morning Spanish classes, volunteer placement begins (community, education, or environment).
Week 3 – Volunteer Work & Cultural Exchange Immersion through teamwork and interaction with locals. Volunteer project, cultural workshops, cooking class, visit to local artisan market.
Week 4 – Integration & Reflection Advanced conversations, final presentations, farewell celebration. Spanish oral project, group reflection, and day trip to Ojos del Caburgua or Termas Geométricas.

Volunteer Opportunities in Pucón

Participants can choose or be matched with volunteer placements such as:

  • Environmental Conservation: Reforestation, trail maintenance, and sustainability workshops.

  • Community Education: Supporting local schools or after-school programs.

  • Tourism & Culture: Assisting small tourism initiatives or local NGOs that promote eco-tourism and cultural heritage.

All placements are designed for short-term international volunteers and coordinated with local partners.


Accommodation: Homestay with a Chilean Family

Each participant stays with a carefully selected Chilean host family, which includes:

  • Private furnished room

  • Two meals per day (breakfast and dinner)

  • Laundry and Wi-Fi

  • Full cultural immersion and language practice

You’ll share daily life with locals, improve your Spanish naturally, and become part of the community.
